Pre-Litigation Paralegal
Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pre-Litigation Paralegal with RTA or Credit Hire experience, to join their Bolton, Greater Manchester offices.
\nKey Tasks
\n- Dealing with MOJ Portal matters
\n- Uploading claims to the MOJ Portal.
\n- Using Med Co and instructing medical agencies
\n- Conducting AskCue PI searches.
\n- Valuing general damages.
\n- Obtaining documents and evidence in support of general and special damages.
\n- Drafting witness statements.
\n- Recovering credit hire, storage, and recovery charges.
\n- Uploading Stage 2 packs.
\n- Issuing Stage 3 proceedings and preparing Court documents.
\n- Issuing Infant Approval Proceedings.
\n- Identifying when matters should be removed from the MOJ Portal.
\nPre-Litigation
\n- Dealing with issues as to why file has left the MOJ Portal.
\n- Conducting investigations to determine the prospect of success of the files.
\n- Obtaining documents and evidence in support of general and special damages.
\n- Preparing the files to be transferred to Litigation Department once Court Proceedings are necessary.
\n- Be vigilant for possible Fundamental Dishonesty and bring it to the attention of the
\n- appropriate supervisor.
\nEssential Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required
\n- A Paralegal with at least 1 years’ experience of dealing with both claims on the MOJ Portal and claims that have left the MOJ Portal.
\n- OIC Portal experience
\n- Experience of running own case load with minimal supervision.
\n- Proactive in running case load and providing updates to clients.
\n- Familiar with the Civil Procedure Rules and the Pre-Action Protocols.
