This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with sheet materials who enjoys working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Homag beam saw, managing their own workload, and ensuring materials are processed efficiently to meet production schedules.The Role As a Beam Saw Operator / Wood Machinist, your responsibilities will include:Operating and setting up a Homag beam sawCutting sheet materials accurately to specificationWorking with MDF, plywood, melamine-faced boards, and other panel productsReading and interpreting cutting lists and production schedulesManaging your own workload to meet production targets and deadlinesConducting routine machine checks and basic maintenanceMonitoring quality throughout the cutting processMaintaining a clean, organised, and safe working areaMinimising material waste and maximising efficiencyWorking closely with the production team to ensure smooth workflowWhat We're Looking For Previous experience operating a beam saw, ideally Homag machineryStrong background in woodworking, panel processing, or wood machiningExperience working with MDF, plywood, melamine-faced boards, and similar materialsAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyExcellent attention to detail and accuracyGood understanding of workshop health and safety practicesReliable with excellent timekeepingPositive attitude and strong work ethicWhat's in it for You?
