Following a strong pipeline of recent project awards and an expanding portfolio, this is an exciting time to come on board and play a key role in delivering major civil engineering works that will help shape Scotlands renewable energy future.Based on-site in Orkney, youll be at the heart of high-profile, forward-thinking projects, working alongside a supportive and experienced team to deliver infrastructure with lasting impact.If youre ready to take the next step in your career and contribute to meaningful, future-focused energy developments, wed love to hear from you.Making Possible As Project Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for the following:Develop a close working relationship with the construction team, client, supply chain and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication between all parties on Health, Safety and Wellbeing (H,S & W) mattersSupporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the H,S & W management system in line with the contractual requirements and ISO 45001Liaise with external bodies where required on H,S & W mattersActively involved with ensuring that H,S & W risks are identified and mitigated from conceptual design through to the construction phase and beyond, with a strong emphasis on designing out H,S & W risksWilling and able to lead on H,S & W strategies and champion a positive organisational cultural approach to world class H,S & W performanceTo support the communication and understanding of all H,S & W plans, policies, procedures and initiatives throughout the supply chainTo ensure that H,S & W performance is monitored and measured in line with the clients contractual requirements, including trend analysisTo promote the company vision and values in all dealings with employees, client, supply chain and other external contactsCarry out high quality inspections and audits that go beyond just addressing compliance and, in addition, identify both barriers and opportunities for improved operational performanceMonitor close-out of H&S inspections and audits within prescribed timescalesTo lead and/or participate in accident investigations, ensuring that all investigations are robust with all findings clearly evidenced by the data and supporting meaningful remedial actionsHave a thorough understanding of incident investigation models and methodologiesAttend and contribute to collaborative meetings, forums and workshopsWhat do you bring to the role? Previous experience working as an H&S Advisor on infrastructure projects would be desirable; however, anyone with practicing Health and Safety experience will be considered.NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalentThorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standardsValid membership of IOSHAble to deliver internal health and safety management coursesAble to advise on health and safety issues on a day to day basis on siteAble to conduct standard accident investigations on host siteAble to write site inspection reports and audit reportsWhats in it for you?
