Operations Manager

Salary: Between £40,000-45,000 per annum depending on experience.Location: MK44Job Type: Full Time | PermanentHours: Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their hazardous waste operation. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high compliance standards, and driving continuous improvement across the business.The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 10 employees and play a key role in ensuring operational targets, safety standards, and customer expectations are consistently achieved and improved upon.Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of hazardous waste collection, processing, and disposalEnsure full compliance with environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirementsManage and support operational staff, drivers, and site personnelDevelop, implement, and maintain safe working proceduresMonitor operational performance, productivity, and associated costsInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where requiredCoordinate maintenance schedules for vehicles, plant equipment, and facilitiesManage operational scheduling and customer service issuesLiaise with regulators, contractors, customers, and internal technical sales teamsSupport audits, inspections, and compliance reporting activitiesIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational developmentRequirements Previous experience within waste management, environmental services, logistics, or industrial operationsStrong leadership and people management skillsExperience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulationsExcellent communication and organisational skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesCompetent using Microsoft Office and operational management systemsExperience working with hazardous materials and regulatory compliance is highly desirableQualifications Industry-related qualifications such as WAMITAB and/or NEBOSH essentialWorking Conditions Primarily site-based with occasional office dutiesFlexibility to support emergency response and occasional out-of-hours requirements when necessaryWhats on Offer Salary up to £45,000 per annumOpportunity to join a growing and essential industryA leadership role with real autonomy and the opportunity to make improvementsLong-term career progression opportunitiesIf you are an experienced Operations Manager looking for your next challenge within a highly regulated operational environment, we would like to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
