Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing building services team. You will work on diverse building projects, moving from initial concepts through to detailed delivery, under the mentorship of senior engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical building services including lighting, small power, fire alarms, and data systems.Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics.Carry out electrical load, cable sizing, and lighting calculations using industry software.Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and clients to deliver integrated designs.Survey existing installations and attend project progress meetings.Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations and British Standards (e.g., BS 7671).Requirements & QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 3 years of experience within electrical design, OR a strong background as a qualified commercial/industrial electrician looking to transition into a design career.Education: HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2382).Technical Skills: Familiarity with electrical design software (such as Amtech, Dialux, or Relux) and AutoCAD.Revit Skills: Previous experience using Revit MEP is a distinct advantage, though training can be provided.Knowledge: A solid understanding of electrical installation practices and current wiring regulations.Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for engineering development.What We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Structured career path with tailored training and development opportunities.Hands-on mentorship from senior industry professionals.Exposure to a wide variety of exciting construction and refurbishment projects.Friendly, collaborative, and supportive office environment.TPBN1_UKTJ
