Job Description

An established pharmaceutical business has a new requirement for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the business. This position has been created due to someone retiring from the business. The company is an award-winning pharmaceutical business who have been established for over 50 years and employs over 5000 people worldwide. They have a new facility in Leicestershire where, at the moment, it employs circa 75 people, but they are looking to seriously expand on this in 2026. The position is working regular days 37.7 hour contract, core hours are 10 am to 4 pm with flexible working. Reporting to the supervisor you will be joining a team of 5 Engineers.Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:To comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements within the business in line with the Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, e.g. Work Instructions, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems. To provide reactive engineering support and other functions within the business providing you with a variety of day-to-day task.The management and completion of routine maintenance schedules.To supervise, co-ordinate and work alongside external contractors.Exposure to change control activities and processes.To manage efficiently mechanical & some electrical breakdowns to optimise plant efficiency and productivity.Promote continuous improvement processes to develop and improve plant performance.To maintain accurate and detailed records of all work carried out.Participate in your development as an engineer by attending all training requirements.Requirements:Apprentice trained - City & Guilds level 3 or HNC in Mechanical EngineeringPost-apprenticeship experience in a maintenance environment.Background in a highly regulated industry is essential (Pharm, Healthcare, FMCG)Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with electrical competenciesExperience using document control/maintenance management systemsSome facilities experience is highly advantageous but not essentialProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)In return, you will receive an excellent salary and benefits package:Salary is £40k to £43k7 hourly contracted week, with core hours between 10 am to 4 pm Monday to FridayRegular DaysBonus SchemeHealthcare - this includes family and covers dental, healthcare, and eyesPension ContributionLong Service Awards26 days holiday + bank holidaysFree Car ParkingWorking in incredible facilitiesAdditional holidays for moving houseEnhanced maternity pay schemeOccupation sick pay schemeLife CoverOngoing training and developmentTPBN1_UKTJ
