This is an opportunity to join a mission-led business where your work will have a genuine social impact every day.The OpportunityThey're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead who can take ownership of their technology platform, improve reliability and security, and help establish the foundations for future growth. You'll be their first in-house technology specialist, acting as the bridge between business needs, product development and technical delivery.This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings all day. They are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, writing code, automating processes and taking ownership of technology outcomes.What You'll Be DoingService Reliability & OperationsOwn technical operations and platform stabilityAct as the first point of contact for production incidents and outagesImprove monitoring, alerting and incident management processesReduce operational risk through better documentation and processesWork with external technology partners where specialist support is requiredPlatform & DevOpsImprove deployment processes and release managementIntroduce Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practicesBuild CI/CD pipelines and automation capabilitiesStrengthen security, governance and auditabilityDrive improvements in resilience, scalability and performanceSoftware DevelopmentContribute directly to platform developmentSupport and maintain existing Node.js servicesWork alongside product stakeholders to deliver enhancementsHelp establish Agile delivery practices and technical standardsContinuously improve engineering ways of workingTechnology LeadershipProvide technical guidance across the organisationTranslate business requirements into practical technical solutionsSupport future technology recruitment and capability growthHelp shape the technology roadmap alongside the leadership teamTechnology EnvironmentWhat They're Looking ForEssentialExperience in a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Platform Engineer or DevOps roleStrong cloud experience, ideally within AzureExperience supporting and operating production systemsHands-on experience with automation, CI/CD and Infrastructure as CodeSoftware development experience, ideally with JavaScript / Node.jsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsComfortable working autonomously and taking ownershipDesirableExperience in a startup, scale-up or small technology teamMobile application experienceExperience introducing DevOps and engineering best practicesExposure to AI-enabled products or servicesExperience working in social impact, education or healthcare environmentsIf youd like to discuss this role further or explore next steps, please get in contact with Charlie at WRK digital, comment below, or apply via the job post in the comments.TPBN1_UKTJ
