Assistant Lawyer / Solicitor Regulatory & Health & Safety Manchester Salary: Competitive discussed at application stage About the Role: Were looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Lawyer / Solicitor to join our specialist regulatory team in Manchester. Working closely with Partners David Rainey and Nick Gianferrari , youll play a key role in handling complex health & safety, regulatory, and inquest matters often from the very outset of an incident through to resolution. Work alongside highly respected Partners on complex, high-profile casesGain hands-on experience from day oneBuild expertise in a specialist and growing area of lawBe part of a supportive, team-oriented cultureOpportunity to develop client relationships through training and mentoring deliverWhat Youll Be Doing In this varied and hands-on role, you will: Analyse prosecution evidence and assess its implications for clientsDraft witness statements and review client evidenceCollate, organise, and summarise case materials for senior lawyersLiaise with courts, coroners, regulators (HSE, CQC, Police) and external expertsPrepare and serve defence case statements, sentencing and mitigation bundlesDraft submissions and support case strategy developmentAttend interviews under caution, inquests, and trials alongside CounselConduct legal and regulatory research (including HSE guidelines)Review medical records, post-mortem reports, transcripts and CCTV evidenceCoordinate meetings, site visits, and expert appointmentsSupport clients sensitively in often challenging and high-pressure situationsWhat we're looking for A qualified Solicitor with at least 1 years experience in: Health & Safety / Regulatory lawCriminal lawInquests (ideally within care home or similar settings)Highly organised with the ability to manage competing prioritiesDetail-focused and confident working with case management systemsA strong communicator, able to build rapport with clients and stakeholders at all levelsCalm, resilient and professional under pressureA collaborative team player with a proactive, flexible approachSensitive and empathetic in dealing with clients facing difficult circumstancesConfident in your written work, research, and IT skillsInterested?
