A leading construction and engineering contractor is looking for a Design Manager to support a major redevelopment project in Acton. The scheme includes two hyperscale data centres, an office building and a new substation, following full demolition, utility diversions and ground remediation.

YOUR NEW ROLE

\n

Youll lead design delivery from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring designs are compliant, buildable and aligned with programme, cost, quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Manage design delivery and governance across all project stages

    • \n
  • \n

    Develop and control design programmes

    • \n
  • \n

    Coordinate consultants, designers and subcontractors

    • \n
  • \n

    Lead design reviews, approvals and technical assurance

    • \n
  • \n

    Identify value engineering opportunities

    • \n
  • \n

    Support construction teams with technical queries

    • \n
  • \n

    Oversee as-built information and O&M documentation

    • \n
  • \n

    Build strong relationships with clients and project teams

    • \n
  • \n

    Mentor junior design staff

    • \n

ABOUT YOU

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Proven experience managing design through pre-construction and delivery

    • \n
  • \n

    Strong technical knowledge of construction design and engineering

    • \n
  • \n

    Solid understanding of Building Regulations and CDM

    • \n
  • \n

    Experience with design reviews, approvals and optimisation

    • \n
  • \n

    Qualifications: RIBA/CIOB/ICE (or equivalent), degree or equivalent experience, SMSTS, CSCS (Black preferred)
