Job Description
To provide operational management of the Care at Home service as designated by/in the absence of the Care at Home Team Manager, fulfilling the role of the Registered Manager when required.
\nTo manage and deliver the in-house Care at Home service to a designated group of Service Users.
\nTo support and manage a designated group of staff.
\nTo support the Care at Home Team Manager to ensure the service operates within required standards in line with national and local policy, practice, standards and within agreed budgetary limits.
\nTo provide a budgetary overview of expenditure.
\nResponsibilities\n
To be responsible for the effective management of the service as designated by/in the absence of the Care at Home Team Manager.
\nEnsure the quality and standard of professional practice and performance in all areas of service delivery.
\nManage, organise and supervise the development of a designated group of Care at Home staff, including completion of ERPD and regular supervision.
\nObserve the standards of practice of Care at Home Officer’s and Social Care Assistant’s in ensuring care packages are delivered at appropriate time and in line with the outcome of assessments with Council Service Delivery.
\nLiaise with other partnership services e.g. old age psychiatry, learning disability and mental health providers and informal service users and carers, in order to seek to meet the needs in the most efficient and appropriate way.
\nArrange and participate in required duty systems.
\nMaintain case records, both electronic and written, provide information for performance indicators, and fulfil procedures and statutory duties in line with national and local policy practices and procedures.
\nMonitor the agreed budget for administrative costs associated to the Care at Home budget.
\nCarry out Management and Administration processes in line with Moray Council policies and procedures.
\nParticipate in the role of Care at Home Officer or designated other when required.
\nThe Individual\n
Recent experience of working in a Health/Social Care setting with supervisory experience.
\nDemonstrable understanding of main issues facing Community Care.
\nHNC in Social Care/SVQ3.
\nSEN; SRN or other applicable professional qualification.
\nGood oral/written communication
\nExcellent inter-personal skills.
\nProven ability to lead on management of change.
\nAbility to prioritise workload, in accordance with objectives and targets.
\nProven ability to work well under pressure.
\nAbility to record information accurately.
\nExcellent IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
\nGood organisational skills/time management with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands.
\nAbility to interpret and analyse information.
\nAbility to negotiate and liaise with others.
\nAbility to work on own or as part of a team.
\nYou will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
\nAbility to relate well with staff at all levels.
\nAbility to work in partnership in a multi-professional way.
\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.
\nAble to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
\nThis post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
\nTherefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
