Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
The role will support the delivery of high-quality building services engineering solutions across a wide range of projects and sectors. The position will lead elements of project design delivery, ensuring accurate technical outputs and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
\nWorking as part of our clients engineering team, the role will contribute to the development of innovative and efficient building services designs while mentoring junior engineers and supporting project teams to deliver projects in line with client requirements, industry standards and internal quality processes.
\nLead and contribute to the delivery of electrical engineering design solutions across multiple projects and sectors.
\nDevelop detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports and technical drawings in line with industry standards and internal quality procedures.
\nEnsure the timely delivery of accurate design information throughout project stages.
\nAct as a key point of coordination between engineering teams and the in-house or external Revit/CAD teams.
\nDevelop and present technical design solutions that respond to client briefs and project performance requirements.
\nMaintain oversight of project deliverables and report progress to line managers or project managers.
\nEnsure engineering design outputs are delivered within project programmes and deadlines.
\nIdentify and communicate project risks, technical issues or client feedback to senior team members.
\nSupport and mentor junior engineers and designers within the engineering team.
\nProvide guidance on technical design development and best practice engineering solutions.
\nContribute to maintaining consistent engineering standards and design quality across projects.
\nSupport collaborative working within multidisciplinary project teams.
\nLiaise with clients, architects and other members of the external design team.
\nPresent technical solutions and design strategies clearly to project stakeholders.
\nSupport the development of strong professional relationships with clients and project partners.
\nContribute to identifying opportunities for future business development through project relationships.
\nProduce detailed engineering calculations and coordinated technical design outputs.
\nSupport project coordination and multidisciplinary design integration.
\nApply industry standards, design guidance and internal engineering processes.
\nUtilise engineering modelling and design software to support project delivery.
\nMaintain awareness of project management tools and delivery processes.
\nDemonstrate commercial awareness when delivering engineering solutions.
\nA degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
\nTypically 5+ years' experience within a building services engineering consultancy.
\nWorking towards or holding relevant professional accreditation (CIBSE, IET or equivalent).
\nExperience delivering engineering design across a range of project types and sectors.
\nUnderstanding of project coordination and multidisciplinary design environments.
\nPractical experience supporting project delivery across public and private sector projects.
\nExperience using industry design and modelling tools including:

- Bluebeam \n
- IES or Amtech, EOM, Dialux and Relux software packages \n
Good presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and design teams.
\nAbility to manage workload and prioritise tasks across multiple projects.
\nAbility to work independently with limited supervision as well as collaboratively within project teams.
