Job Description

This role involves creating engaging content for websites, newsletters, social media and media channels to keep members informed and raise FODO's profile. You'll help communicate healthcare policy developments, support media activity and contribute to campaigns that shape the future of eye and hearing care.

  • Create content for websites, newsletters, social media and press releases.
  • \n
  • Keep FODO websites updated with timely and engaging news stories.
  • \n
  • Manage social media channels and respond to audience enquiries.
  • \n
  • Support member communications, policy updates and clinical guidance uploads.
  • \n
  • Build media relationships and coordinate interviews and press enquiries.
  • \n
  • Attend events, conferences and parliamentary meetings to support communications.
  • \n
  • Monitor media coverage, campaign performance and industry developments.
  • \n
  • Assist with communications planning, crisis response and reputation management.
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Strong editing, proofreading and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Confident creating content across digital and social channels.
  • \n
  • Able to tailor messages for different audiences and stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
  • \n
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to work independently.
  • \n
  • Interested in healthcare, policy and current affairs.
  • \n
  • Comfortable handling media enquiries and fast-moving communications.

Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £33,000 to £38,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • \n
  • London - Hybrid - two days a week
  • \n
  • 5% Pension
  • \n
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • \n
