Job Description
Quality Engineer / Senior Quality EngineerKidderminster (Onsite role)£35,000 - £55,000 + excellent bens.This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, compliance and continuous improvement of complex, safety-critical products manufactured for some of the most demanding applications in the world.Working closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams, you'll be at the heart of driving operational quality performance, leading investigations, supporting product release activities, and implementing improvements that deliver measurable business impact.What you'll be doingSupporting production teams to achieve quality, delivery and performance objectivesInvestigating non-conformances and leading root cause analysis activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and FishboneMonitoring and reporting manufacturing quality KPIs, driving corrective and preventive actionsConducting product audits and ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specifications and customer requirementsSupporting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and quality documentation in accordance with EN9102Leading Material Review Boards (MRBs) and supporting Delivery Review Boards (DRBs)Acting as a key interface between manufacturing, engineering and supplier quality teamsSupporting internal and external audits, including EN9100 accreditation activitiesContributing to PFMEA, technical investigations and wider continuous improvement initiativesSenior Quality Engineer responsibilitiesFor experienced candidates, the role offers the opportunity to:Lead quality improvement projects across operational areasCoach and mentor colleagues on quality best practiceDrive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellenceAct as a technical authority within the quality functionProvide leadership support and deputise for the Quality Team Leader when requiredWhat we're looking forHND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical disciplineExperience within a manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive or other highly regulated engineering environmentStrong understanding of quality tools and root cause methodologiesAbility to interpret engineering drawings and GD&TExperience supporting audits, quality investigations and compliance activitiesA proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementDesirable experienceEN9100 auditing experienceDefence Standards (Def Stan) or AQAP knowledgeFAIR / AS9102 experiencePFMEA and structured problem-solving methodologiesCMM inspection or programming knowledgeExperience of QRQC, SQCDP or similar operational excellence toolsWhy apply?Work on complex, technically challenging productsJoin a business operating at the forefront of defence technologyInfluence quality performance across manufacturing operationsGenuine opportunities for progression into senior technical and leadership rolesBe part of a culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellenceInterested in learning more?
