We are currently looking for a hardworking Catering Assistant to join our friendly and supportive catering family.If you are eager to work in the hospitality sector but crave a better work-life balance than the industry standard, we would love to hear from you!Pay & ScheduleContract: Term time contract, 40 weeks per year.Pay: £13.45 per hour.Hours: 17.5We are proud to be a voluntarily certified Real Living Wage Employer, ensuring a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay.What You Will Be DoingIn this varied and active role, you will help us provide a high standard of culinary produce in a healthy, hygienic environment. Your key duties will include:Assisting in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the Catering Department and Dining Hall.Washing, cleaning, and drying equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.Assisting with the preparation, transportation, and serving of food and beverages for College staff, pupils, and special functions.Setting and clearing tables, as well as handling and storing food deliveries correctly.Delivering polite, courteous, and efficient customer service at all times.What You Bring to the TableWe are looking for someone with a friendly, approachable, "can-do" attitude. The successful candidate will ideally have:Previous experience in a similar hospitality role and a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (this is desired, but not essential as full training is provided!).The ability to handle a busy service and support the team in meal preparation.Flexibility to switch between tasks at short notice and respond to unplanned situations.The ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, while also using initiative to work unsupervised when needed.A solid understanding of Health and Safety procedures.The Perks: Why Join Us?At Denstone College, we combine a rich history with a forward-thinking approach, offering a supportive environment where you can thrive.
