Salary: £27,976.00 - £33,435.04*
\n Higher end of the salary is inclusive of two sleep-ins per week and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and/or equivalent qualification.

What the Role Involves

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll be part of a dedicated team supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, adversity and disruption in their lives.

No two days are the same. This role can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be emotionally demanding. We are looking for people who can remain patient, resilient and professional during challenging situations, providing the stability and consistency that young people need to thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting young people with their daily routines, education and personal development
\n
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
\n
• Creating a safe, nurturing and stable home environment
\n
• Managing and de-escalating incidents and challenging behaviours with confidence and empathy
\n
• Encouraging independence, life skills and positive outcomes
\n
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, education providers and external professionals
\n
• Maintaining clear records and safeguarding responsibilities
\n
• Acting as a positive role model who provides consistency, boundaries and emotional support
\n

About Salmons House

Salmons House is a three-bedded children's residential home located in the village of Middleton Cheney, near Banbury. Rated \"Good\" by Ofsted, the home supports young people up to the age of 18, providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where children can develop confidence, learn essential life skills and work towards positive futures.

Situated in a peaceful village setting, Salmons House offers the perfect balance between a calm, homely atmosphere and access to local amenities, activities and community opportunities. The home is well positioned for commuters travelling from Banbury, Brackley, Bicester, Buckingham, Daventry, Towcester and Northampton, with excellent road links via the M40 and surrounding transport networks.

What We're Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and industries. Many of our successful team members have previously worked in hospitality, retail, customer service, education, sports coaching, healthcare, the military, warehousing and other demanding environments.

You'll need:

• Strong emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
\n
• Confidence working with young people who may present behaviours that challenge
\n
• The ability to maintain professional boundaries while building positive relationships
\n
• A calm, patient and measured approach during difficult situations
\n
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
\n
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
\n
• A full UK driving licence (essential)
\n
• The ability to undertake physical intervention when required, following training
\n
• A willingness to learn and complete a funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
\n
