Assembly Engineer

Precision Assembly Engineer (Cameras) East Sussex Up to £35,000 + Benefits Our client is a specialist manufacturer of advanced imaging and detection systems used in high-technology applications. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and hands-on Precision Assembly Engineer to join their Operations team. The Role - Precision Assembly Engineer * This is a practical, laboratory-based engineering role focused on the assembly and integration of PCBs, sensors, connectors and other components into camera housings. * The role is ideally suited to someone with excellent manual dexterity, a meticulous attention to detail and experience working with electronic and mechanical assemblies in a laboratory, cleanroom or high-technology manufacturing environment. * Whilst the primary focus is on precision assembly and production activities, there will be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects, tooling enhancements and process optimisation within the manufacturing environment. * Working within a small and collaborative team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality products while supporting ongoing development of assembly techniques and processes. Key Responsibilities - Precision Assembly Engineer * Assembly of specialist scientific and X-ray cameras comprising PCBs, sensors, connectors and other components * Carry out wiring and soldering, as required * Assemble mechanical parts and camera housing using appropriate hand tools * Work from engineering drawings, bills of materials and assembly instructions * Handle delicate and high-value components carefully * Complete relevant production documentation and ERP records * Maintain high standards of quality and health & safety Skills & Experience - Precision Assembly Engineer * Hands-on engineering, technician or precision assembly background gained through apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent industry experience * Experience assembling high-precision mechanical, optical, electronic or electro-mechanical products * Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work confidently with small, delicate and high-value components * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work * Experience working in a laboratory, cleanroom, production or precision manufacturing environment * Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions and manufacturing procedures * Patient, methodical approach to precision assembly tasks with practical problem-solving skills * Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently The company offers great training and benefits including 25 days holiday, pension & private health care and are commuting distance from Hastings, St Leonards on Sea, Bexhill, Battle, Ore, Fairlight, Ninfield, Pevensey, Crowhurst, Eastbourne, Rye etc
