Maintenance Operative

Maintenance Operative - Temporary (6 weeks) - Oxford

We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Operative to help keep our student accommodation safe, well maintained, and welcoming. You’ll handle reactive repairs, planned maintenance, painting and decorating, and support the smooth day-to-day running of the building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs).
\n
• Complete painting, decorating, and general upkeep tasks.
\n
• Maintain shared spaces and apartments to a high standard.
\n
• Conduct health & safety compliance checks including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and legionella testing.
\n
• Keep accurate maintenance and safety records.
\n
• Support inspections, events, and wider site activities.
\n
• Provide a friendly and professional service to residents, keeping them informed on maintenance updates.

Skills & Experience:

\n
• Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a similar role.
\n
• Skilled in painting, decorating, and general repairs.
\n
• Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.
\n
• Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented.
\n
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
\n
