IT Support Engineer
\n\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join our growing and successful business.
\nSupporting a network of 70+ users within a windows server environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support and will work in close alignment with all users and the rest of the technical team.
\nAs well as supporting the users, this role will be responsible for looking after the Data Centre and network infrastructure and all technical suppliers.
\nThis is role is a particularly hands-on and will require the successful candidate to always take their initiative whilst being the first point of contact for all IT related tasks. You will take a strategic approach to support and always consider how enhance the IT infrastructure.

\n\nTasks and objectives
\nProcurement of new IT hardware and software
\nMaintaining software licensing
\nEnsuring the successful roll out of new hardware and systems
\nIT Hardware and Software Asset Management
\nCreating and keeping all IT documentation up to date
\nPerforming Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly pre-defined system checks
\nCreation, Deletion and Management of Users within Active Directory and O365
\nLogging and managing all requests and issues in the helpdesk system in a timely fashion
\nEnsure the business remains up to date and secure
\nMaintaining the security, antivirus system and software licences
\nSupport all users on the network
\nDevelop a basic level of insurance knowledge and demonstrate competency by completing DevZone modules
\nMaintain effective working relationships with all internal departments
\nMaintain an open communication ethos with colleagues and managers
\nAttend meetings when required
\nPerform a variety of administrative duties as required to assist the Head of Infrastructure
\n\nReporting Lines - who the role reports to, and any responsibility for supervising other staff
\nReporting to the Head of Infrastructure and IT
\n\nPersonal Profile
\nQualifications
\nEssential
\nGCSEs or higher in maths and English or equivalent
\nDesirable
\nA computing-based Degree
\nAny other 3rd Party IT qualifications concerning Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Networking, Virtualization, Linux and or Storage
\n\nSkills/Abilities/Demonstrable experience in the following areas
\n1st to 3rd Line IT Support
\nLogical Problem Troubleshooting skills
\n\nAny experience of the following would be considered an advantage
\nMicrosoft Windows 10 and 11, Server and 2019+
\nVPN technologies
\nCloud based Services: (Office 365, Azure, Exclaimer, Mimecast)
\nVirtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
\nVOIP Telephony Systems (3CX)
\nNetwork Technologies (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/Firewalls)
\nBackup Software (Veeam)
\nStorage Technologies (NAS/iSCSI/SAN/Fibre/DAS)
\nMobile Application Management (InTune)
\nAny project work concerning System and Application migration to the Cloud
\n\nKey attributes an engineer should be able to demonstrate
\nThe ability to work unsupervised
\nDeliver to agreed timescales, or to highlight issues as soon as they arise if likely to affect those timescales
\nThe ability to work and communicate effectively within a team
\nGain insights of the business within the market based on an understanding of business trends
