Our Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Lecturer in Film & Content Production, Graphic Design, and Photography to join our Visual Arts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality learning programmes for 16-19-year-old learners, providing both pastoral and academic support to help students achieve their full potential.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

    Teaching and Learning:

    \n
      \n
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and study programme requirements.
    • \n
    • Develop high-quality teaching materials and learning resources.
    • \n
    • Assess student work through various methods and provide timely feedback.
    • \n
    • Contribute to course development and curriculum planning.
    • \n
    • Prepare learners for examinations and project-based learning outcomes.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Student Support and Pastoral Care:

    \n
      \n
    • Act as a personal tutor and first point of contact for a designated group of students.
    • \n
    • Provide educational, personal, and welfare guidance.
    • \n
    • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and engagement, implementing appropriate interventions.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Assessment and Administration:

    \n
      \n
    • Maintain accurate student records and complete all required administrative tasks.
    • \n
    • Undertake internal verification and quality assurance activities.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Curriculum Development and Quality Improvement:

      \n
    • Participate in course team meetings and quality improvement activities.
    • \n
    • Assist with promotional activities, open events, and recruitment initiatives.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Academy Responsibilities:

    \n
      \n
    • Uphold and promote Academy policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
    • \n
    • Participate in staff appraisal, training, and continuing professional development (CPD).
    • \n
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Essential:

    \n
      \n
    • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant Visual Arts subject.
    • \n
    • Teaching Qualification and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    • \n
    • Proven track record of delivering consistently good or outstanding teaching.
    • \n
    • Experience teaching learners aged 16-19.
    • \n
    • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • \n
  • \n
  • \n

    Desirable:

    \n
      \n
    • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialist subject area.
    • \n
    • Industry experience in Film Production, Photography, Graphic Design, Content Creation, or related creative sectors.
    • \n
    • Experience delivering UAL or similar creative qualifications.
    • \n
