Electrical Technician
\nLocation: East London
\nRate: £39.29 per hour (Umbrella)
\nContract: 6-month rolling contract
\nWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a specialist marine engineering team maintaining vessels and associated shoreside infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on electrical maintenance, fault finding and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of a busy ferry service.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections. \n
- Diagnose, fault-find and repair electrical and electronic systems. \n
- Maintain vessel power systems, switchboards and docking infrastructure. \n
- Support PLC and control system troubleshooting. \n
- Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards. \n
Essential Requirements
\n- \n
- Level 2 Electrical NVQ (or equivalent). \n
- Experience working in a marine or maritime electrical environment. \n
- Strong electrical maintenance, diagnostics and fault-finding skills. \n
- Knowledge of marine electrical and electronic power systems. \n
- Good understanding of electrical safety and risk management. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) experience. \n
- PLC troubleshooting. \n
- Knowledge of DC switchboards, converter drives and marine electrical standards. \n
This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled engineering team supporting a critical transport operation on a long-term rolling contract.
