Groupage Forklift Driver

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groupage Forklift Driver to join a busy and well-established freight forwarding and logistics company based in West Thurrock, Essex.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced warehouse, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of groupage freight, loading and unloading trailers, and ensuring all cargo is handled accurately and in line with customer and operational requirements.

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
\n
• Handle groupage, palletised, and loose freight with care.
\n
• Load and unload vehicles in accordance with loading plans and weight distribution requirements.
\n
• Check incoming and outgoing freight against delivery notes and shipping documentation.
\n
• Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies.
\n
• Measure, weigh, label, and prepare freight for dispatch.
\n
• Assist with the consolidation and segregation of groupage freight for onward distribution.
\n
• Ensure freight is stored correctly within the warehouse.
\n
• Maintain accurate warehouse records and complete relevant paperwork.
\n
• Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to meet collection and delivery deadlines.
\n
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
\n
• Support general warehouse duties as required.
\n

• Previous experience as a Forklift Driver within a freight forwarding, groupage, logistics, or warehouse environment.
\n
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
\n
• Experience handling groupage, palletised, and general freight.
\n
• Knowledge of safe loading and unloading practices.
\n
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and freight handling procedures.
\n
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
\n
• Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic.
\n

• Experience within a freight forwarding or transport operation.
\n
• Experience using warehouse management systems or handheld scanners.
\n
