OverviewHays is delighted tobe partnering with a leading global financial markets trade association torecruit a Regulatory Analyst to join its Public Policy and Regulatory Strategyfunction.
\nThis is a unique opportunity for financial services professional with experience in securities lending, securities financing, repo markets or wider capital markets regulation to join a highly respected industry body representing more than 280 member firms globally. The organisation works closely with policymakers, regulators, market participants and industry stakeholders to shape the future regulatory landscape of the securities finance market.
\nReporting to the Headof Public Policy and Regulatory Strategy, you will play a key role inmonitoring global regulatory developments, analysing legislative change andsupporting industry advocacy initiatives across the UK, Europe, Middle East andother international markets. This role offers significant exposure toregulators, policymakers, senior banking professionals and industry leaders,providing a genuine opportunity to influence policy outcomes on behalf of thewider market.
\nThe successfulcandidate will combine strong analytical skills with a practical understandingof securities financing products and enjoy working within a highlycollaborative and externally focused environment.Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and assess legislative and regulatory developments impacting securities lending, securities financing and wider capital markets. \n
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning across key global jurisdictions, identifying emerging risks and opportunities for industry participants. \n
- Support the drafting of consultation responses, position papers, briefing notes and policy submissions. \n
- Research and analyse the operational and commercial impacts of proposed regulatory changes. \n
- Support engagement with regulators, policymakers, trade associations and other external stakeholders. \n
- Assist in the coordination of member working groups comprising senior representatives from leading financial institutions. \n
- Prepare research summaries, presentations and briefing materials for meetings with regulators and industry stakeholders. \n
- Support the development of thought leadership content, articles and industry publications. \n
- Maintain regulatory tracking tools, legislative timelines and stakeholder databases. \n
- Contribute to wider advocacy initiatives and strategic policy projects across the organisation. \n
Skills &Experience RequiredEssential
\n- \n
- Experience within securities lending, securities borrowing, repo, securities financing or related capital markets activities. \n
- Knowledge of securities finance products and market infrastructure. \n
- Experience gained within a product, regulatory, legal, operations, trading or market-facing function. \n
- Strong research and analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex regulatory developments. \n
- Excellent written communication skills with experience producing concise reports, briefings or policy papers. \n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build credibility with internal and external audiences. \n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment. \n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience analysing financial services regulation or public policy developments. \n
- Previous exposure to industry associations, regulatory bodies or advocacy activities. \n
- Understanding of UK, European or international financial services regulatory frameworks. \n
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholder groups. \n
- Knowledge of wider market structure, collateral management or regulatory reporting regimes. \n
