Assistant Accountant
Job Description
A well-regarded and established business near Carlisle is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This vacancy has arisen following the retirement of a long-serving employee, highlighting the organisation's excellent staff retention and positive environment.Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll join a close-knit finance function where you'll gain exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities and play an important role in supporting the financial operations of the business.This position would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their accounting career in a stable and successful organisation that values collaboration and development.Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of the finance team, your duties will include:

- Processing purchase, sales and nominal ledger transactions \n
- Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments \n
- Assisting with monthly management accounts preparation \n
- Processing bank, control account and balance sheet reconciliations \n
- Maintaining financial records and reports \n
- Resolving supplier account queries and liaising with colleagues across the business \n
- Supporting financial reporting requirements \n
- Ensuring compliance with established financial processes and controls \n
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Min 2-3 years' experience in a similar capacity or, perhaps you're ready for career progression? \n
- AAT qualified or working towards \n
- Experience of Sage 200 or similar ERP/systems \n
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills \n
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail \n
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines \n
- A positive, team-focused approach and strong communication skills \n
