Graduate / Intermediate Electrical Design EngineerLocation: NottinghamSalary: £25,000 - £35,000 dependent on experienceJobType: Permanent, Full TimeHours: 40 hours per weekThe Company A leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join its Nottingham office. The business delivers electrical and mechanical building services solutions across a diverse range of projects and sectors, working from early feasibility through to detailed and fully coordinated designs for installation. You'll join an experienced and supportive team with a strong focus on technical development, training and long-term career progression.The Role As a Graduate / Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will work alongside experienced electrical designers, mechanical engineers and Revit Technicians within a multidisciplinary environment. You'll be involved across RIBA Stages 0-5, developing electrical designs from feasibility through to detailed and coordinated designs for installation. The role will include:\n

- Designing, sizing and selecting electrical building services systems \n
- Working on LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire and security systems \n
- Producing load calculations and supporting utility connection applications \n
- Developing electrical designs using industry-standard calculation and design software \n
- Producing 2D drawings, 3D models, specifications and technical reports \n
- Supporting the implementation of sustainable technologies within electrical designs \n
- Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical and other disciplines \n
- Working within a multidisciplinary team alongside Design Engineers and Revit Technicians \n
- Attending client, design team and project meetings \n
- Undertaking feasibility studies and site surveys \n
- Working to relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry design guidance \n
- Developing knowledge of Amtech, Relux, Revit and AutoCAD through structured training and hands-on experience \n
- \n
- A Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification \n
- Alternatively, an apprenticeship-trained Electrician with relevant City & Guilds qualifications \n
- An interest in developing a career within Building Services Design \n
- Some previous experience in electrical building services design would be beneficial for an Intermediate-level candidate \n
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook \n
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills \n
- An interest in electrical design and calculation software \n
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills \n
- Strong communication skills \n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team \n
- Ability to manage tasks independently when required \n
- Flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work \n

- In-house training from experienced Design Engineers \n
- Further education support towards HNC, HND or Degree qualifications where required \n
