Subsidence SpecialistLocation: Field-based (Midlands, North of England & Scotland)Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 / Company car or allowance Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout the Role We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Subsidence Specialist to join a growing company after a recent increase in project demand. This is a key role responsible for managing a portfolio of subsidence claims from initial diagnosis through to repair and final completion. You will act as the technical lead and referral point within the subsidence team, ensuring accurate decision-making, high-quality reporting, and excellent customer outcomes while balancing cost and time efficiencies. This is a field-based role covering the Midlands, North of England and Scotland, with travel and occasional overnight stays required.Key Responsibilities\n

- Act as the technical / repair referral expert for subsidence claims within your region \n
- Review surveyor and inspector reports to produce clear, accurate technical assessments and diagnoses (subsidence, heave, landslip or alternative causes) \n
- Instruct and interpret site investigations including: \n
- Drainage surveys (CCTV) \n
- Level monitoring \n
- Satellite monitoring \n
- Distortion surveys \n
- Produce concise technical reports and recommendations aligned with policy coverage \n
- Develop and manage repair specifications, including substructure and superstructure works \n
- Oversee claims from initial notification through to project completion \n
- Collaborate with contractors, surveyors, policyholders, and internal stakeholders \n
- Manage variation orders and ensure adherence to policy terms \n
- Ensure all outputs meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs) \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of subsidence processes, systems, and training \n
- Support and mentor colleagues, leading by example in technical excellence and service delivery \n
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams \n

- Recognised qualification in engineering or surveying \n
- Chartered status (e.g. MIStructE, MICE, RICS, MCIOB, MCABE or equivalent) \n
- Extensive experience in subsidence claims within the insurance sector \n
- Strong understanding of: \n
- Foundation movement (subsidence, heave, landslip) \n
- Domestic building repair techniques \n
- Excellent report-writing and analytical skills \n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities \n
- Proven ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively \n
- Full UK driving licence \n

- CII qualification (Cert CII or above) \n
- Previous experience in a senior or referral-level technical role \n

- Customer-focused with excellent service delivery skills \n
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities \n
- Effective complaint handling and resolution skills \n

- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload \n
