AR892 – Plant EngineerLocation: CranleighSalary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Door-to-Door & OvertimeOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently supporting a client in the search for a Plant Engineer.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant repair and maintenance, as well as the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical problems. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team and have the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and accurately. A welding qualification is preferred.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.Duties and Responsibilities:

- Diagnose & repair mechanical problems on diesel powered plant and vehicles. \n
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing. \n
- Complete weld repairs. \n
- Test parts and systems to ensure they are working properly. \n
- Use diagnostic tools. \n
- Explain mechanical problems and needed repairs to customers in a clear and concise manner. \n
- Keep records of work performed. \n
Skills and Qualifications:

- Relevant experience and qualifications e.g., City and Guild, NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to or greater than. \n
- Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment. \n
- Good IT Skills. \n
- Knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally in the construction or agricultural industry. \n
- Ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience. \n
- Ability to deliver appropriate communication both internally and externally to allow planning and continued work to be effectively completed. \n
- Ability to set timescales to own tasks to enable completion of duties and to ensure all tasks are carried out with a level of urgency and within a timely manner, whilst not compromising safety. \n
- Present a professional image at all times. \n
- Must carry a full driving licence as well have the ability to operate machinery on site for testing purposes (training can be given to the right candidate). \n
