Are you an experienced Supplier Quality professional with a background in supplier containment, recovery, and supplier development within automotive or advanced manufacturing?Benefits Include:£33.00 - £36.00 per hour (Inside IR35 - Umbrella pay rate)3 - 6 month contract with strong potential for extensionContract opportunity within a high-performance automotive environmentLead a small Supplier Quality team while remaining technically hands-onWorking hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00am - 16:30pmFull-time, site-based role in Woking, SurreyWe are supporting a high-performance automotive manufacturer in their search for a Supplier Quality Lead Containment & Supplier Recovery to join their Surrey-based manufacturing team on a contract basis.This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a small team of Supplier Quality Engineers while driving supplier containment, corrective actions, and recovery activities to protect manufacturing operations and improve supplier performance. You will work across the full supplier base and commodity portfolio, with particular focus on Body-in-White (BIW), Exterior, Interior, and Carbon Fibre components.Role OverviewYou will lead supplier containment and recovery activities across a portfolio of suppliers, acting as the escalation point for critical quality issues and working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers to minimise disruption and deliver sustainable improvements.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support a team of Supplier Quality EngineersManage supplier containment and recovery activities, including CSL1 and CSL2Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and 5 WhysReview containment plans, recovery actions, and exit criteriaMonitor supplier quality performance and report on risks and progressWork cross-functionally to resolve supplier quality issuesManage third-party containment providers where requiredEssential Experience:Experience in Supplier Quality within automotive or advanced manufacturingExcellent understanding of GD&T and the ability to confidently interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specificationsPrevious experience leading supplier containment and recovery activitiesTeam leadership or mentoring experienceStrong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, GD&T, and structured problem-solvingExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentMust have the independent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)If you're an experienced Supplier Quality professional looking for your next contract opportunity within a high-performance automotive environment, we'd love to hear from you.G&P is a world-leading quality management services provider, supporting manufacturers in the automotive, defence, aerospace and industrial sectors, and their associated supply chains, to transform quality and efficiency levels.With over 30 years of experience, we provide tailored solutions through senior management support and expert personnel from our dedicated talent division.
