Job Description

Earth Energy Education is looking for a self-employed, experienced school workshop leader to deliver workshops in schools and at solar and wind farms across the North of England. The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher or experienced educator seeking part-time consultancy work and must be willing and able to travel. They will have a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability and biodiversity with a good knowledge of the National Curriculum. They will be able to lead inspiring and engaging sessions for a variety of ages, but primarily secondary school and +16 groups.Required experience:Qualified teacher status (minimum 1 year experience)Essential criteria A strong background in educationDemonstrable experience working with primary and secondary school studentsFamiliarity with the National CurriculumAbility to adapt educational workshops to all age groupsWillingness and ability to travel across the North of EnglandAccess to a vehicle and a valid UK driving licenceSuperb communication skillsPunctual, reliable, and professionalPositive, enthusiastic attitudeCompetent IT skills with the ability to work onlineDesirable (not essential)An interest in current environmental ideas, renewable energy, and sustainabilityKnowledge of and experience within the Higher Education sectorUnderstanding of the secondary school STEM and Geography curricula in EnglandExperience designing and presenting educational resourcesAwareness of child protection, health and safety, and risk assessment proceduresExperience delivering online teaching or virtual workshopsLicence/CertificationsDriving licenceQualified teacher statusBenefits: Paid planning and preparation time in addition to contact daysPaid volunteer timeFlexibility to work from home for planning and preparationExperience: Primary Education: minimum 1 year (preferred)Secondary Education: minimum 1 year (preferred)Higher Education: minimum 1 year (preferred)Please note: this is a part-time consultancy contract with a maximum of 30 days contact time in school/on site within term times.
