Job Description

Job Purpose The Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Reception team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.The Learning Support Assistant will provide support to individual pupils, small groups, and the wider class, ensuring children make excellent progress socially, emotionally, and academically.Key Responsibilities Supporting Teaching and Learning Work alongside the class teacher to support the delivery of a broad, balanced, and engaging EYFS curriculum.Assist in planning and preparing learning activities and classroom resources.Support children during whole-class teaching, small-group work, and independent learning activities.Encourage children's participation, curiosity, confidence, and independence in learning.Support the development of early literacy, numeracy, communication, and language skills.Observe, monitor, and record children's progress and share observations with the class teacher.Supporting Individual Pupils Provide targeted support to children with varying learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).Implement individual support plans and intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.Foster positive relationships with children to support their emotional wellbeing and personal development.Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's Behaviour Policy.Supporting the EYFS Environment Help create a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.Support children's learning through play-based activities.Prepare and maintain classroom displays and learning resources.Ensure learning areas are clean, safe, and engaging.Pastoral Care and Safeguarding Support children's personal, social, and emotional development.Assist with lunchtime, transitions, toileting, and personal care needs where required.Be vigilant regarding safeguarding and child protection concerns and report these in accordance with school procedures.Promote children's health, safety, welfare, and wellbeing at all times.Working with Colleagues and Parents Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.Contribute to meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.Support positive communication with parents and carers when appropriate.General Responsibilities Uphold the values, ethos, and policies of Brady Primary School.Maintain confidentiality at all times.Participate in relevant training and continuous professional development.Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably requested by the Headteacher.TPBN1_UKTJ
