Stores Technician - Hospitality & CateringFull Time (37 hours) | Permanent | £30,224 per annumAre you an organised hospitality professional with a passion for food, quality and operational excellence? Join our thriving Hospitality & Catering team as a Stores Technician and play a pivotal role within our brand-new, state-of-the-art Escoffier facilities in the Compass Building.This is far more than a traditional stores role. At the heart of a dynamic environment that combines industry-standard teaching kitchens with commercial restaurant operations, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of ingredients, specialist equipment and resources that support outstanding learning, assessment, events and customer service.Working closely with lecturers, chefs, apprentices and students, you'll use your hospitality expertise, organisational skills and attention to detail to keep operations running smoothly, safely and efficiently. Your contribution will help create exceptional learning experiences and support the development of the next generation of hospitality and culinary professionals.What You'll Be DoingManaging stock levels, ordering, deliveries and inventory control across hospitality and catering facilitiesEnsuring ingredients, equipment and resources are available to support teaching, assessments, restaurant service and eventsMaintaining robust stock control systems and accurate purchasing recordsDeveloping effective relationships with suppliers to secure quality products and value for moneySupporting lecturers, chefs and students with specialist hospitality resources and operational requirementsCoordinating resources for competitions, employer-led activities, demonstrations, masterclasses and commercial eventsMonitoring food safety, allergen management, HACCP compliance and environmental health standardsManaging the maintenance, servicing and operational readiness of specialist catering equipmentIdentifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve sustainability and maximise efficiencyContributing to outstanding learning environments that reflect current industry practiceWhat We're Looking ForYou will bring:Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent)Level 2 Catering qualification or equivalent industry experienceStrong knowledge of professional food production, kitchen operations and food safety practicesExperience of stock control, procurement, logistics or stores management within a hospitality, catering or food production environmentExcellent organisational and planning skills with great attention to detailStrong IT and digital skills, including confidence using stock management and record-keeping systemsThe ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, students and suppliersA proactive, adaptable and solution-focused approachA commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvementA Health, Safety and Hygiene qualification and experience within education or further education settings would be advantageous.We encourage early applications, as we may close the vacancy once we receive a sufficient number of strong applications.Working at Bournemouth and Poole CollegeMore than just a job.At Bournemouth & Poole College, we are passionate about turning potential into professionals.
