Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Mechatronic Maintenance Engineer to join their established Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Wednesbury.This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fast-paced, high-volume production environment where reliability, continuous improvement and engineering excellence are at the heart of the operation.Working on a 4 on, 4 off rotating shift pattern (days and nights), you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably through proactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and continuous improvement initiatives.The RoleAs a Multi-Skilled Mechatronic Maintenance Engineer, you will provide both electrical and mechanical maintenance support across the manufacturing plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime.Your responsibilities will include:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all manufacturing equipment.Responding quickly and effectively to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.Diagnosing faults using structured problem-solving techniques.Maintaining automated manufacturing machinery to maximise production efficiency.Working with PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.Supporting installation projects, machinery upgrades and continuous improvement activities.Completing maintenance documentation and recording work accurately using the company's maintenance management system.Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.Assisting with root cause analysis to reduce recurring equipment failures.Supporting fellow engineers and production teams to improve plant reliability.Participating in shutdowns, planned maintenance and engineering improvement projects.About YouWe're looking for a proactive engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working within a highly automated manufacturing environment.Essential ExperienceRecognised apprenticeship, HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing, production or heavy industrial environment.Strong electrical fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills.Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery.Knowledge of Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLCs.Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.Mechanical fitting, fabrication and basic welding experience.Installation experience including conduit, cable tray, armoured cable and industrial electrical systems.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Flexible approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.We're looking for engineers who can demonstrate:A proactive approach to preventative maintenance.Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.A safety-first mindset.Excellent attention to detail.A continuous improvement mentality.The ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.Commitment to delivering high engineering standards every shift.What's on Offer?£49,725 basic salaryAdditional Lifestyle Shift Payment4 on / 4 off shift pattern offering excellent work-life balance.Permanent, full-time position.Stable, well-established manufacturing business.Long standing production facility with ongoing investment.Opportunity to work with advanced automated manufacturing equipment.Training and development to further enhance your engineering skills.Long-term career progression within an expanding engineering team.If you're a skilled Multi-Skilled Mechatronics Engineer looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
