FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR - BOOKKEEPERFULL TIME (Part-time considered - minimum 30 hours per week)CONTRACT - Fixed-term for 3 months (with the potential to become a permanent position)About the RoleBrook Street Recruitment is workng on behalf of our Belfast client who are seeking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our friendly finance team on an initial three-month fixed-term contract.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to make an immediate impact, with the possibility of securing a permanent role.Working as part of a team of three, you will support the Senior Management Team by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across the sales and purchase ledgers. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, and comfortable managing a varied workload while maintaining high levels of accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain the Purchase and Sales Ledgers, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time.Process supplier invoices and match them to purchase orders.Perform multi-currency bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate allocation to customer and supplier accounts.Reconcile customer accounts and assist with sales ledger management.Support the Credit Control function, including liaising with customers regarding outstanding payments.Answer telephone enquiries professionally and assist customers with payment-related queries.Support the cleansing and migration of supplier and customer records from a previous accounting system.Provide general administrative support to the Senior Management Team, Sales Team and wider business.Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures.Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by management.About YouYou will be an experienced finance professional with excellent organisational skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.Essential RequirementsMinimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.At least two year's experience in a finance, bookkeeping or accounts administration role.Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.Excellent numerical ability with exceptional attention to detail.Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.Strong communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers and colleagues.A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.DesirableAAT qualification (or currently studying towards an accounting qualification).Experience using Sage, particularly Sage Intacct.Experience using the Opera accounting system.The successful candidate will demonstrate:Accuracy and attention to detail - producing high-quality work with minimal errors.Excellent communication skills - building positive relationships with customers and colleagues.Organisation and time management - effectively managing priorities and deadlines.Teamwork - a flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues when required.Initiative - identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the continued success of the finance function.BenefitsSalary 30k per annumThis is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team where your experience will be valued from day one.While this role is initially offered as a three-month fixed-term contract, there is genuine potential for it to become a permanent position for the right candidatePlease send CV via the apply linkBrook Street NMR is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.TPBN1_UKTJ
