Technical Lead
Job Description
Technical Lead - West Yorkshire / Hybrid - £45,000 - £60,000
\nWRK digital are proud to be partnering with a growing technology-for-good organisation dedicated to helping people with autism and special educational needs thrive in the workplace.

You'll be their first in-house technology specialist, acting as the bridge between business needs, product development and technical delivery.
\nThis is not a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings all day. They are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, writing code, automating processes and taking ownership of technology outcomes.

\nOwn technical operations and platform stability
\nAct as the first point of contact for production incidents and outages
\nImprove monitoring, alerting and incident management processes
\nReduce operational risk through better documentation and processes
\nWork with external technology partners where specialist support is required
\nPlatform & DevOps
\nImprove deployment processes and release management
\nIntroduce Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices
\nBuild CI/CD pipelines and automation capabilities
\nStrengthen security, governance and auditability
\nDrive improvements in resilience, scalability and performance
\nSoftware Development
\nContribute directly to platform development
\nSupport and maintain existing Node.js services
\nWork alongside product stakeholders to deliver enhancements
\nHelp establish Agile delivery practices and technical standards
\nContinuously improve engineering ways of working
\nTechnology Leadership
\nProvide technical guidance across the organisation
\nTranslate business requirements into practical technical solutions
\nSupport future technology recruitment and capability growth
\nHelp shape the technology roadmap alongside the leadership team
\nTechnology Environment
\nWhat They're Looking For
\nEssential
\nExperience in a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Platform Engineer or DevOps role
\nStrong cloud experience, ideally within Azure
\nExperience supporting and operating production systems
\nHands-on experience with automation, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
\nSoftware development experience, ideally with JavaScript / Node.js
\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
\nComfortable working autonomously and taking ownership
\nDesirable
\nExperience in a startup, scale-up or small technology team
\nMobile application experience
\nExperience introducing DevOps and engineering best practices
\nExposure to AI-enabled products or services
\nExperience working in social impact, education or healthcare environments
