Salary: £42,000 - £45,000\n
\nThe OpportunityWe are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a small, highly skilled maintenance team based.\n
\nWorking as part of a team of three, you will play a key role in ensuring critical mechanical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational across commercial, industrial and defence environments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role involving installation, planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a wide range of mechanical plant.\n
\nThis position requires an individual with excellent technical knowledge, strong fault-finding abilities and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.\n
Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Install, maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment across site.
\n
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with MOD JSP 375 and SFG20 Planned Maintenance Specification.
\n
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
\n
• Work on a range of mechanical equipment including:\n

  • Pumps
  \n
  • Motors
  \n
  • Cooling towers
  \n
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  \n
  • Generators
  \n
\n
• Replace or refurbish mechanical components as required.
\n
• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and repair records.
\n
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with health & safety legislation and site procedures.
\n
• Work closely with colleagues to maintain the reliability of essential building services.
\n

About You\n
\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\n
\n

\n
• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a similar recognised qualification.
\n
• Previous experience working within commercial building maintenance.
\n
• Strong knowledge of mechanical plant including pumps, motors, cooling towers, AHUs and generators.
\n
• Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
\n
• High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate maintenance documentation.
\n
• Experience working to JSP 375 and SFG20 maintenance standards (desirable).
\n
• A commitment to safe working practices and regulatory compliance.
\n
• The ability to obtain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance (essential).
\n
