SC Cleared Senior Database Administrator (AWS Aurora/Amazon RDS/PostgreSQL)

We're recruiting for an experienced SC Cleared Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join a major public sector programme, supporting the design, optimisation and resilience of critical AWS-hosted database platforms.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong expertise across AWS database services, performance tuning and high availability.

Clearance required: BPSS + SC (It needs to be an active SC with a government agency used within the last 6 months)

Essential Skills

• Expert knowledge of AWS Aurora, Amazon RDS and PostgreSQL
\n
• Strong database architecture, schema design and data modelling experience
\n
• SQL optimisation, query tuning and execution plan analysis
\n
• Performance tuning, indexing and database optimisation
\n
• Backup, recovery, replication, failover and disaster recovery
\n
• Troubleshooting complex production database environments
\n
• Data reconciliation and data integrity validation
\n
• AWS services including IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, VPC and Secrets Manager
\n
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
\n
• CI/CD experience
\n
• Excellent stakeholder management and technical leadership skills

Desirable

\n
• AWS Database Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification
\n
• Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB or Redis
\n
• Public Sector or other highly regulated environments
