An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join a large, not-for-profit organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the finance transactions function, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient processes and the delivery of a high-quality service across the organisation.

\n

Leading the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Payroll teams, you will play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, developing high-performing teams and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Lead, motivate and develop the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
  • \n
  • Oversee the accurate and timely operation of sales and purchase ledgers
  • \n
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions and statutory payments.
  • \n
  • Lead payroll year-end activities, including P60s, P11Ds and reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Review and improve financial transaction processes, systems and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Monitor aged debtors and creditors, proactively resolving issues and improving cash collection.
  • \n
  • Manage cash flow and produce rolling cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
  • \n
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and consolidated reporting.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, funders, suppliers and external partners.
  • \n
  • Investigate and resolve complex financial queries while ensuring compliance with internal policies and financial regulations.

Essential Experience:

\n

\n

You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience leading finance transaction teams within a complex organisation.

\n

\n

You will also have:

\n
    \n
  • Experience managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC compliance and statutory payments.
  • \n
  • Proven experience driving process improvement and leading change initiatives.
  • \n
  • Experience of cash flow management, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • \n
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
  • \n
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • \n
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
