The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team, helping the practice manage a growing client portfolio while maintaining a high standard of service and efficient turnaround times.The role will focus on accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT work across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential.About YouWe are looking for someone with solid practical experience gained within an accountancy practice.To be considered, you should have:Around three years experience working within an accountancy practicePractical experience in accounts preparation and bookkeepingExperience preparing VAT returnsExperience working with sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesA good working knowledge of Xero or similar cloud accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and the ability to work accuratelyGood organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlinesConfident communication skills when dealing with clients and colleaguesThe ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider teamYou may currently be studying toward an AAT qualification, already be AAT qualified, or have developed equivalent knowledge through practical, on-the-job experience.Formal qualifications are welcome, but relevant practice experience and the ability to manage a varied workload are equally importantThe RoleAs an Accounts Semi-Senior, your responsibilities will include:Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesCompleting bookkeeping assignments across a varied client portfolioPreparing and submitting VAT returnsMaintaining accurate accounting records and resolving bookkeeping queriesReviewing client records and identifying missing or incomplete informationLiaising directly with clients to obtain information and provide clear updatesWorking with cloud-based accounting software, including XeroSupporting the timely onboarding and progression of new client workManaging multiple assignments and ensuring deadlines are metAssisting with management accounts and wider general practice duties where requiredWorking closely with colleagues to improve workflow and reduce turnaround timesEnsuring all work is completed accurately and in line with practice standardsThis role would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or developing Accounts Semi-Senior who is looking for greater responsibility and a secure long-term career move.To be considered, please submit a complete and up-to-date CV clearly outlining your accountancy practice experience.TPBN1_UKTJ
