Procurement Team Leader

We are currently supporting a specialist Public Sector organisation who are recruiting for a Commercial / Procurement Team Leader. Reporting to the Head of Procurement this exciting opportunity exists to help shape and deliver the organisation's commercial and procurement strategy. You will drive key initiatives that support the strategic direction of the service, ensuring effective routes to market and robust contract management.Role requirements of the Commercial / Procurement Team LeaderWorking closely with Commercial Category Leads, you will provide guidance and oversight to ensure procurement activity is delivered effectively, transparently and in line with organisational priorities.To develop and communicate clear procurement plans so that colleagues understand requirements throughout the procurement and contract management lifecycle.Champion continuous improvement in procurement processes and contract managementHelp to deliver value for money and efficiencies for the organisation and the taxpayer.Work with key stakeholders and partner organisations to identify collaborative opportunitiesSkills and Experience required of the Commercial / Procurement Team LeaderProfessional qualification of working towards MCIPS (Min level 5 completed)Good knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) / PCR2015Previous experience of the use of e-tendering portalsCommercial Awareness within a Public Sector EnvironmentDemonstrable experience in the examining, advising and negotiating on contractsAble to calculate and evaluate numerical dataAble to advise, persuade or negotiate within the confines of the regulationsDemonstrable in-depth experience of running and managing complex procurement processes.Experience of leading/mentoring small teamsPackage£51,000 - £54,000 Base salary24 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with long serviceCompetitive pension schemeFamily-friendly policies, including flexible workingHybrid workingFree on-site parking (site-specific)Access to Discounts at hundreds of retailers and eventsThis position would suit someone with experience working in the Public Sector as a Procurement Specialist, Procurement Lead, Procurement Team Leader, Procurement Manager, Senior Commercial Officer, Commercial Manager or Contracts ManagerTPBN1_UKTJ
