Financial Controller

I am currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a purpose-led property development company at an exciting stage of its growth. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a newly created position offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the finance function.This role offers an excellent blend of hands-on financial control, commercial finance, and strategic FP&A. Alongside leading the day-to-day finance team, you'll drive budgeting, forecasting and business planning, while helping to build a high-performing, commercially focused finance function.Key responsibilities include:Leading the month-end process across multiple entities, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reportingProducing monthly management accounts, financial reports, variance analysis and insightful commentaryManaging treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationshipsLeading the annual budgeting process, alongside regular forecasting and scenario planningSupporting long-term business planning through financial modelling and strategic analysisDeveloping meaningful KPI reporting to provide clear insight into business performanceMonitoring project expenditure against approved budgets and reviewing development appraisalsPartnering closely with development and operational teams to provide commercial challenge and financial insightPreparing statutory accounts and coordinating the annual external auditLeading, mentoring and developing the finance team, fostering a more commercially focused cultureIdentifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls and drive automation across the finance functionBuilding strong relationships across the business to support informed decision-makingThe successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance position, ideally within the property, real estate or construction sectors.
