Location: Nationwide (Head Office in the West Midlands, with nationwide travel as required)
Salary: £45,000 Basic + Overtime + Expenses

The Opportunity\n

A well-established and growing specialist fire protection business is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Installer to join its Gas Suppression division. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled team delivering specialist fire suppression projects across commercial, industrial and critical environments throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of technically challenging projects, installing high- and low-pressure pipework and associated equipment for gaseous fire suppression systems. The role offers long-term career stability, ongoing manufacturer training and excellent earning potential through overtime.

The Role\n

As a Mechanical Installer, you will be responsible for installing and modifying pipework associated with gaseous fire suppression systems. Working from approved drawings and manufacturer specifications, you will ensure installations are completed to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with current UK regulations and site health and safety requirements.

You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors and commissioning engineers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.

Key Responsibilities\n

    Install and modify pipework for gaseous fire suppression systems.

  • \n

    Install cylinders, manifolds, valves, discharge nozzles, brackets and pipe supports.

  • \n
  • \n

    Set out pipe routes in accordance with approved drawings and manufacturer specifications.

  • \n
  • \n

    Cut, thread and install high-pressure pipework to a high standard.

  • \n
  • \n

    Carry out pressure testing and support commissioning activities.

  • \n
  • \n

    Work in accordance with relevant British Standards, manufacturer guidance and industry best practice.

  • \n
  • \n

    Maintain compliance with site RAMS, permit-to-work systems and health and safety procedures.

  • \n
  • \n

    Identify and report installation issues, defects or design clashes.

  • \n
  • \n

    Complete installation records, test documentation and site reports accurately.

  • \n
Requirements\n

Applicants should have proven experience installing gas suppression pipework systems within commercial, industrial or critical environments. A strong understanding of high-pressure mechanical pipework installations and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings and manufacturer installation manuals is essential.

Candidates should be confident working independently on live construction sites while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and workmanship.

    Full UK Driving Licence.
