School Premises Officer / Caretaker

Are you an experienced School Premises Officer looking for your next opportunity in a welcoming and well-maintained school environment?

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Premises Officer to join a lovely school in Lewisham on a full-time, 5-day-per-week basis. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, strong knowledge of school premises management, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, secure and positive environment for pupils and staff.

A degree is preferred, alongside relevant practical experience and a strong understanding of premises, facilities and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school premises
\n
• Ensure the site is safe, clean, secure and well presented
\n
• Carry out regular checks, inspections and basic maintenance
\n
• Coordinate repairs and liaise with contractors and external providers
\n
• Support compliance with health & safety, fire safety and statutory requirements
\n
• Manage site-related issues efficiently and proactively
\n
• Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the school site
\n
