\nThe Role\n
\n
\nAs a Tool Hire Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering a great experience for our customers while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our Tool Hire Centre.\n
\n
\nYou'll be one of the first points of contact for our customers, helping them find the right equipment for their needs, arranging hire agreements and ensuring they receive a friendly, professional service from start to finish.\n
\n
\nThe role will include:\n
\n

\nServing customers at the trade counter and helping them select the right tools and equipment.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nDealing with customer enquiries both face-to-face and over the telephone.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nPreparing quotes and processing hire agreements.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nOrganising and coordinating equipment collections and returns.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nCarrying out administrative duties associated with the hire process.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nEnsuring hired equipment is available, prepared and presented to the required standard.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nSupporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Tool Hire Centre.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nHelping to ensure equipment is used and hired safely and in accordance with company procedures.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nCarrying out deliveries and collections when required, particularly during busy periods.\n
\n
\nWhether a customer needs a power tool for a small job or more specialist equipment for a larger project, you'll help them find the right solution while ensuring they receive the excellent customer service BSS is known for.\n
\n
\nWhat We're Looking For\n
\n
\nYou don't necessarily need previous experience in the tool hire industry. What's most important is that you're friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping customers.\n
\n
\nYou'll be someone who:\n
\n

\nIs a natural people person and enjoys building relationships with customers and colleagues.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nHas a friendly, helpful and professional approach.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nIs confident communicating with customers face-to-face and over the telephone.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nCan learn new systems, products and processes quickly.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nIs organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nHas strong attention to detail when completing hire contracts and administrative tasks.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nHas an interest in tools, equipment or mechanical products, with some mechanical knowledge being advantageous.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nIs comfortable working as part of a team while also taking responsibility for their own workload.\n
\n
\n*\n
\n
\nHas a full UK driving licence, as there may be an expectation to carry out deliveries and collections from time to time.\n
\n
\nExperience within the hire industry would be advantageous but is not essential. New starters will receive the training and support required to develop their product knowledge, systems skills and understanding of the hire operation.\n
