Our client is a well-established, privately owned manufacturing business with an international customer base and a strong reputation within its specialist market. Part of a wider international group, they are now seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function and support the Managing Director in driving business performance.

\n

This is a varied, hands-on role offering real commercial influence. You'll lead the day-to-day finance operation while providing insight that supports strategic decision-making across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of the finance function and leading a small finance team.
  • \n
  • Producing monthly management accounts with clear analysis for the Managing Director.
  • \n
  • Managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
  • \n
  • Monitoring revenue, margins, profitability and working capital.
  • \n
  • Providing commercial insight to support business decisions.
  • \n
  • Working with operations to analyse production costs, stock, WIP and margins.
  • \n
  • Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll and payments.
  • \n
  • Managing VAT and statutory compliance.
  • \n
  • Leading the year-end process with external accountants and auditors.
  • \n
  • Strengthening financial controls and improving processes.
  • \n
  • Developing finance systems and reporting.
  • \n
  • Acting as a trusted finance partner to the Managing Director and leadership team.
  • \n

We're looking for someone with:

    \n
  • Qualified or part-qualified status (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or AAT).
  • \n
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • \n
  • Commercial awareness with an operational mindset.
  • \n
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital.
  • \n
  • Strong Excel and ERP/finance systems skills.
  • \n
  • A track record of improving processes and controls.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • \n
  • Confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A proactive, hands-on approach.
  • \n
