People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing Monday to Friday work, depot-to-depot trunking, guaranteed scheduled shifts and genuine temp-to-permanent opportunities with a leading logistics operation.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, Category CE Driver, C+E Driver, Trunk Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, HGV Driver or Commercial Driver.

Shifts

 • Days | Monday to Friday | 03:00-06:00 start times
\n  • Nights | Monday to Friday | 16:00-17:00 start times

Rates of Pay

 • Days | £16.49 per hour
\n  • Nights | £21.85 per hour
\n  • Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Completing depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
\n  • Driving and operating Category C+E (Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections before and after each shift
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant before transportation
\n  • Completing delivery paperwork accurately
\n  • Following Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive and all road traffic legislation
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
\n  • Providing a professional service to transport teams and customer sites

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum of two years' Class 1 driving experience
\n  • Valid Driver CPC Card
\n  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
\n  • Good spoken and written English
\n  • Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach

Desirable Experience

 • Previous depot-to-depot trunking experience
\n  • Previous trailer swap experience
\n  • Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience

Training Provided

 • Driver assessment prior to start
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
