Technical Designer – Architectural Glazing & Partitioning

\n\nThe Opportunity
\nWe are working with an established specialist contractor within the commercial fit-out sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Design Technician to join their technical design team.
\nThe company delivers standard and bespoke interior fit-out solutions for commercial construction projects, including glazed partitions, doors, joinery, atriums, etc.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and experienced team, with training and long-term career development available.
\nThe Role
\nAs Technical Designer, you will produce and coordinate technical design information from project award through to completion.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Revit \n
- Preparing technical and fabrication drawings for glazed partitioning systems, doors and screens \n
- Managing design deliverables in line with project programmes and deadlines \n
- Ensuring buildability, safety, access and cost are considered throughout the design process \n
- Checking drawings against project specifications, fire performance and acoustic requirements \n
- Liaising with architects, main contractors, engineers, suppliers and specialist subcontractors \n
- Attending internal and external design meetings \n
- Preparing drawing registers, door schedules, screen schedules and other project deliverables \n
- Producing and issuing technical submissions \n
- Uploading and managing drawings through client document-control portals \n
- Coordinating manufacturing information and material requisitions \n
- Maintaining accurate project records and following internal design procedures \n
- Ensuring work complies with relevant health and safety, quality and environmental standards \n
About You
\nThe successful Design Technician should have:
\n- \n
- At least three years’ experience in a technical design role within commercial interiors \n
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit skills \n
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings, specifications and manufacturing details \n
- Confidence communicating with architects, main contractors and other specialist trades \n
- The ability to convert written and verbal information into accurate 2D and 3D drawings \n
- The ability to manage deadlines and work independently when required \n
- A genuine interest in developing within technical design \n
