People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Aston, West Midlands.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

\n
• Days (06:00 - 18:00) - £17.50 per hour
\n
• Nights (18:00 - 06:00) - £18.50 per hour
\n
• Saturday - £20.00 per hour
\n
• Sunday - £21.50 per hour
\n

Shift Pattern:

\n
• Monday to Sunday
\n
• 5 days out of 7
\n

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

\n
• Completing refrigerated deliveries with a maximum of three store deliveries per shift
\n
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
\n
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
\n
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
\n
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
\n
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements
\n
• Assisting with loading and unloading where required
\n
• Completing deliveries with no handball involved
\n

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

\n
• A valid UK Category C+E Licence
\n
• A minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category C+E vehicles
\n
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
\n
• A valid Driver CPC Card
\n
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n
• Good spoken and written English
\n
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
\n
• A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
\n
• Effective communication skills
\n

Desirable Experience:

\n
• Previous commercial driving experience
\n
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
\n

Training:

\n
• Industry-related training provided
\n
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
\n
