Principal Planning Officer

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire (DN1) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm Contract: Until 1 February 2027 Pay Rate: £38.13 £41.92 per hour + holiday pay

We're recruiting for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join a busy local authority planning team.
\n This role involves managing a caseload of major planning applications, providing specialist planning advice, engaging with developers, contributing to planning policy, supporting enforcement, and representing the Council where required.

### Essential Requirements

• RTPI-accredited planning qualification (or equivalent)
\n
• Full RTPI membership (or working towards it)
\n
• Significant Local Authority planning experience
\n
• Experience dealing with major planning applications
\n
• Excellent report writing, negotiation and communication skills
\n
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
\n
