People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Willenhall, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading supplier of household goods, offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and genuine temporary-to-permanent opportunities.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, CE Driver, C+E Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Store Delivery Driver, HGV Driver or Commercial Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • Day shifts – Start times between 03:00 and 06:00
\n  • Afternoon shifts – Start times between 12:00 and 16:00
\n  • Some weekend availability required

Rates of Pay

 • Days – £18.00 per hour
\n  • Afternoons – £19.39 per hour
\n  • Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Driving and operating Category C+E (Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Completing between 8 and 10 store deliveries per shift using rolled cages
\n  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections before and after each shift
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant before transportation
\n  • Completing delivery paperwork and records accurately
\n  • Following Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive and all road traffic legislation
\n  • Communicating professionally with the transport office and store staff
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
\n  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
\n  • Valid Driver CPC Card
\n  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
\n  • Good spoken and written English
\n  • Experience operating a variety of trailer types
\n  • Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
\n  • Flexible to work overtime when required
\n  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet delivery deadlines

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience
\n  • Previous store delivery or multi-drop experience
\n  • Experience using rolled cages

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
