Working Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am 4:00pm.

Main purpose of the role:

\n
• All drivers are responsible for daily vehicle checks which will include water, tyres, oil, fuel, etc
\n
• Load and unload trucks with product
\n
• Ensure load is correctly stored and secured prior to departure
\n
• All tachograph laws are observed and adhered to at all times where applicable
\n
• No driver is to exceed the national speed limits permitted
\n
• Ensure cleanliness of vehicle inside and outside of vehicle
\n
• All drivers to observe and adhere to Highway Code at all times
\n
• The use of mobile phones whilst driving is strictly prohibited unless a hands-free kit is installed
\n
• Always display a mature and professional attitude when dealing directly with customers
\n
• Any queries regarding cash collection must be directed to the accounts dept prior to unloading delivery
\n
• All drivers are responsible for ensuring goods are checked against despatch notes whilst unloading
\n
• All vehicle faults are to be reported as soon as possible
\n
• Assist depot manager when required with ad hoc daily activities to ensure the smooth running of the depot
\n
• Support the Control of Goods In/Out
\n
• Assist with the Day-to-Day housekeeping of warehouse and skip areas.
\n

Duties

\n
• Safely and efficiently transport goods and products to designated locations
\n
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
\n
• Plan routes and follow delivery schedules to ensure timely deliveries
\n
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns
\n
• Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports
\n
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure safe operation
\n
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles
\n

Requirements

\n
• Valid UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record
\n
• Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial driving role
\n
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and dispatchers
\n
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures
\n
• Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including vans and trucks
\n
• Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading cargo
\n
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
\n
• Attention to detail for accurate completion of paperwork and documentation
\n
