Mechanical Installer Gas Suppression Systems
\nLocation: Dudley base with nationwide travel (Midlands, London & South)
Salary: £45,000£50,000, depending on experience

We are recruiting on behalf of an established UK fire protection specialist seeking an experienced Mechanical Installer/Pipe Fitter to join its gas suppression division.
\nThis is a specialist position for someone with proven experience installing gaseous fire suppression pipeworknot a general plumbing or mechanical-services role. You will work on commercial, industrial and critical-environment projects throughout the UK.
\nThe Role
\nYou will install and modify high- and low-pressure pipework for gaseous fire suppression systems, including:
\n- \n
- HFC-227ea \n
- FK-5-1-12 \n
- Inergen \n
- Argonite \n
- CO2 systems \n
Your responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Installing threaded pipework and high-pressure fittings to exact tolerances \n
- Setting out pipework routes from approved drawings and manufacturer specifications \n
- Cutting, threading and assembling pipework to a high standard \n
- Installing cylinders, manifolds, valves, discharge nozzles, brackets and supports \n
- Ensuring pipe sizes, routes and nozzle positions comply with system designs \n
- Assisting with pressure testing, integrity testing and commissioning \n
- Identifying design clashes, defects and non-conformances \n
- Completing installation records, test documentation and site reports \n
- Working closely with project managers, supervisors and commissioning engineers \n
- Following RAMS, permit-to-work procedures and site health and safety requirements \n
- Working in accordance with relevant British Standards, manufacturer guidance and applicable LPCB or FM requirements \n
About You
\nTo be considered, you must have:
\n- \n
- Previous experience installing gaseous fire suppression pipework \n
- Strong threaded-pipe installation skills \n
- Experience working with high-pressure pipe systems \n
- The ability to interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics and installation manuals \n
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail \n
- The ability to work independently on live sites \n
- A valid CSCS Skilled Worker card \n
- A full UK driving licence \n
- A willingness to travel and stay away when projects require it \n
Manufacturer-specific suppression-system training is highly desirable. IPAF, PASMA, manual-handling and asbestos-awareness certificates would also be beneficial.
